The Twitter coverage of Anime Festival Asia X continues unabated and undaunted. Once again, the content there is primary, mostly due to being a great deal more timely.
However, I promised to write something about the main highlight of AFA X Day Two for me, which was what I arrived an hour early for: the screening of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.
The AFA X press conference has come and gone and Animenauts was not invited (sniff sniff). Nevertheless, we are still able to have a sneak-peek into what will be happening at AFA X on the 13th and 14th of November thanks to SGCafe’s Ooga and the official AFA X website. These are some of the highlights that you all can look forward to as well as some of my personal thoughts. More after the jump.
Update: The I Love Anisong VIP passes go on sale on the 23rd of September, 9am while the standing area passes will be available from the 30th of September.
Fans of the SOS brigade will finally be able to enjoy them in high-definition as Haruhi Suzumiya makes his blu-ray debut this October.
The entire 28 episode series will be packaged into an eight disc set which includes English subtitles. Extras include footage from live events, which brings the total runtime for all eight discs to be around 1080 minutes (18 hours). This will be one of the few Japanese blu-ray releases to include English subtitles. Amazon.co.jp lists the price of the entire set to be ¥29,526 (around SG$460). Pre-ordering is open to both Japanese and international users and the release date is set at 22 October 2010.

Thoughts: There goes my future pay-check…the only possible drawback would be the subtitles being in “Engrish” instead…
