Gundam 00: A wakening of the Trailblazer movie merchandise in Singapore

As you might be able to infer from my Gundam 00 movie review, there was a number of Gundam 00 movie merchandise being sold outside the theatre. This includes Gundam 00 posters, pillows and a carrier bag among other things. One of the more limited items is the GNT-0000 00 Qan[T] HG 1/144 (clear version) model kit. According to the sales booth, there are only about 100 sets in Singapore and have limited sales to ticket holders of the movie. While I wasn’t really interested in getting it (clear gunpla isn’t really my thing…), I did manage to get myself a 3D Gundam 00 movie poster and a free carrier bag to go along with it.

Total damage to wallet: SGD 32.90

PS: If you’re wondering why the poster looks excessively shiny, that’s because it is still in the plastic packaging…

About a week or so after the premiere, I managed to find the time to watch Mobile Suit Gundam 00: A wakening of the Trailblazer together with my friend Amos at the Alliance Francaise theatre last Sunday.

All this is thanks to the licensing efforts of Odex Pte Ltd, which has allowed Gundam fans in the little island of Singapore to have the privilege of watching it on the same day it premiers in Japan. To be honest, I am amazed that they managed to secure a same day premiere. One can imagine the many strings, ropes and ribbons they had to pull to pull this off (pun not intended). Still, its good to see they are at least making some effort to reconcile with local anime fans (read: Odex Saga), even though their merchandise is still bordering on prohibitively expensive. AFA X Preview

The AFA X press conference has come and gone and Animenauts was not invited (sniff sniff). Nevertheless, we are still able to have a sneak-peek into what will be happening at AFA X on the 13th and 14th of November thanks to SGCafe’s Ooga and the official AFA X website. These are some of the highlights that you all can look forward to as well as some of my personal thoughts. More after the jump.

Gundam 00 film and Full Metal Panic! final novel dated

The official website for Gundam 00 has announced that the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: A wakening of the Trailblazer will open on September 18th. Meanwhile, the final (12th) volume of Shoji Gatoh’s Full Metal Panic! novels is dated for August. Gatoh had earlier announced in a blog entry on friday that the 12th volume will be published right after the 11th volume, which is dated July 17th.
