Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo 10: Losing your way

Last week, the episode ended with Sorata’s visit to the art exibition in the hotel. With all the commotion regarding how amazing Mashiro’s last painting she did before leaving for Japan, some meticulous viewers might have noticed Mashiro going over to a golden framed painting when they arrived.

A scene which one would realize later (after watching this episode) as clever foreshadowing of episode 10…

Please note the following will contain SPOILERS for Episode 10!

Zetsuen no Tempest 8: The call that slipped through time…

I still vaguely remember the cryptic synopsis on the back cover of the Zetsuen no Tempest manga, when I first chanced upon it in a book store long ago. The type that kinda tempts the reader to buy it to find out it’s contents.

An exiled princess, the strongest magic wielder, a barrel and the fate of the world, the end of civilization?

Those weren’t the exact words, but you get what I mean ;)  and besides, the two Shoujo-styled bishounen (Mahiro & Yoshino) had me thinking it was some shounen-ai thing (Guy x Guy)! Needless to say, this particular series was shelved by me, until one fateful day… I finally gave in to boredom and started reading it.

Whoa! I was totally surprised by the depth and plot of story, and with a cliffhanger at each chapter… That’s when I realised this was definitely a keeper, and when the animation was finally released, I was literally jumping for joy. As the total opposite of the other anime (Sakurasou no pet na kanojo) I’m reviewing this season, Zetsuen no Tempest has a darker storyline with magic and themes of revenge (chasing the killer of one’s sibling to the ends of the earth?) and  a possible tragic end-of-the-world scenario…

Oops, I got a little carried away with the introduction… Without further ado, here’s my take on episode 8, do note the contents that follows contains SPOILERS for episode 8!
