Autumn 2011 anime season preview

After summer comes the fall, and with it, a new anime season. I am sure many of you have enjoyed the various shows in the summer, like Kami-memo and Usagi Drops among many others. My personal favourite so far has been Kamisama Dolls and Usagi Drops. The autumn season though seems set to outshine the summer, with popular series like Shana and Ika Musume returning. So let us take a look at my personal favourites for the coming anime season…

Last Exile sequel to be telecast on Animax-Asia (Updated)

While there is no official confirmation as yet, Animax-Asia’s latest teaser video and online fan discussion seems to indicate that the Last Exile sequel, “Fam, The Silver Wing”, will be broadcast on Animax-Asia, with a same-day telecast as Japan. STGCC: Get ready to Scream with Animax event

I had the opportunity to check out the Get ready to Scream with Animax event at STGCC (Thanks in no small part to my media pass…), where people who purchased the an Animax exclusive Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan T-shirt got an exclusive preview of the Scream Awards 2010 and the Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan anime. Upcoming Anime on Animax: Blassreiter and Fairy Tail


A little late but as they say, better late than never. Blassreiter will be premiering on Animax-Asia this Friday, 9.30PM while Fairy Tail is announced for September.  Based on information available at the Mikuni Shimokawa concert (namely Animax commercials playing on the television screens in Movida),  Fairy Tail will premier on the 30th of September. Will update once more information becomes available.

Original Inuyasha anime series to air on Animax-Asia

In a recent tweet, Jasmine@Animax announced that the original 167-episode Inuyasha anime series will air on Animax starting on 22nd June, weeknights at 7.30pm. No further details have been given.

Thoughts: Sounds cool. I never had the chance to actually watch the original series in its entirety so this will be a good chance for me to catch up on some of the episodes I’ve missed (Mainly the 2nd half of the series). What’s not known though is whether it’s a dub or a sub…
