FLOW, angela to appear at JPLEX Vol. 1

Anisong fans rejoice! J-pop group angela and J-rock band FLOW will be holding a concert in Singapore’s very own Republic Polytechnic this March! This news was announced just a few hours ago on AFAX’s twitter account and Facebook page.

angela, well-known for singing the theme songs for animes like Soukyuu no Fafner, Stellvia and Seitokai Yakuindomo, will be making their second appearance in Singapore, just months after last November’s AFAX. For FLOW, this will be (to the best of my knowledge anyway) their first appearance on our little red dot. They are known for singing the theme songs of anime like Naruto, Eureka Seven and Code Geass.

Based on the really sparse information gathered from the above image, JPLEX Vol.1 will be at Republic Polytechnic from March 4 to 6. FLOW will be performing on March 5 and 6 while angela will only be around on March 5. They will be appearing as part of the guest lineup of JPLEX Vol.1. Besides FLOW and angela, a number of anime movies will also be screened at JPLEX Vol.1, namely Naruto Shippuden: The Lost Tower, Soukyuu no Fafner: Heaven and Earth and Gundam Unicorn: Episode 3 – The Ghost of Laplace.

JPLEX, otherwise known as the Japan Entertainment Platform, is organised by event and marketing company SOZO (a.k.a the people behind AFA) and “is an entertainment platform focused towards delivering the latest and hottest Japanese entertainment IPs to the Asian audience.” JPLEX Vol. 1 will be their first event of 2011, with more events expected to be organised in the year ahead. For more information, you can check out the JPLEX Facebook page.

Anthony: This came out of nowhere, really. However, considering it’s by SOZO with FLOW and angela as musical guests, this looks set to be one of the major anime events in Singapore for 2011.
