A couple of friends and I went down to the Cosmo Youth Parade 2010 at *Scape to revel in the festivities and celebrate all that is youth culture.
Cosmo 2010, organised by Mascot Parade Limited, is part of the National Youth Council’s SHINE Youth Festival. The main event of Cosmo 2010 is the youth parade, which features youth dressing in various costumes and parading down the streets of Singapore. This year’s youth parade took place in downtown Singapore, from the *SCAPE McDonald’s to the front of the Mandarin Gallery.
One of the highlights was the (temporary) MMK Maid Café @ the *Scape branch of Summer Frost. Since I missed it at AFA last year, my friends and I decided to give it a try. One of them was literally “speechless with joy” (his exact words by the way) after coming out of the meido-kissa. I thought it was an interesting experience (and the snow ice there was pretty good too). I did some shopping too, buying a Canaan Nendoroid on the cheap at the KKNM booth in the retail area (Animenauts review to come…).
How many cosplayers can you spot in this picture? Unfortunately, no prizes for guessing…
Quite a few “LOL” moments as well during the parade with the Gundam 00 struggling to go through the balloon arch and literally limping through the parade route (I actually kinda feel sorry for him…cosplayer abuse? Haha…). Anyway, it was a pretty fun event with lots of freebies (redeemed two movie vouchers and a E2MAX discount voucher) and a great turnout from the public as well. Looking forward to next year’s Cosmo!
Some of my (better) photos of Cosmo 2010…
