AAR: Anime Festival Asia 2009 Press Preview

We managed to finagle a set of media passes for the Anime Festival Asia 2009 press preview. While I admit that it may be a little late in the day (or night) for this to be a true preview, it would be remiss of us not to at least make good use of the materials gathered.

No pictures will accompany this post until Chief Engineer/Editor Matafleur explains why IMG tags do not seem to work.

“Houston, we have lift off…”

Now that DKellis has had his obligatory introduction post, it’s time for mine….

Who are the Animenauts? (Part 2)

I’m kindaichi17, also known as athrun86 on Gamesync. You can check out my personal rants and such at My Life in Words. Similarly, this blog will hold my anime/manga reviews and commentaries.

Besides DKellis and myself, Chief Technical Officer Matafleur is part of our crew as well. We thank him for his technical expertise in keeping our “shuttle” running smoothly.

This weekend, DKellis and myself will be covering Anime Festival Asia 2009 at Suntec Convention Center. Look out for our coverage of all the major happenings at AFA09!

Transmission: Hello World

Since every online venture remotely related to blogging appears to require an introductory post, here is ours… or at least mine.

What is Animenauts?

We are a new anime site that you’ve probably seen before a million times, by other names, in other forms. A blog, a review site, a news site… surely it’s been done to death?

But I aim to present the world of Japanese animation, its cultural norms, and the subcultures of its myriad fandoms to those unfamiliar with its jargon, its habits, and its memes. There are plenty of other like-minded blogs out there; we can try to be different, or we can try to be ourselves.

We may not succeed, but while we’re still online, we hope you’ll have a pleasant ride.

Welcome aboard.

Who are the Animenauts?

We are just two bloggers who happen to be interested in an anime blog as the above.

I’m DKellis. You can find my anime-related ramblings at Moe Check, or my life-in-general ramblings at my Livejournal. This blog will be a more formal repository of my commentaries and reviews of all things anime.
